PRIVACY POLICY – RUNOME

Business League Oy develops Runome, a running analytics application currently in development and testing.
2. SCOPE
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data and activity data are collected, used, stored, and protected when you use Runome and connect wearable devices or other supported data sources.
It applies to internal users, test users, and future users of Runome. Some features may be incomplete or change during development.
3. DATA WE PROCESS
With your authorization and consent, Runome may process the following categories of data:
Activity data
- Activity type (e.g., running)
- Date and time of activity
- Distance, duration, pace, speed
- Heart rate
- Cadence
- Elevation and related metrics
- Training load and activity summaries
- GPS / route and location data related to activities, if provided
Health and wellness data (only if enabled)
- Resting heart rate
- Steps
- Sleep summaries
- Other wellness metrics provided by your connected devices/services
Technical and account data
- Account identifiers needed to link your connected data sources
- Authorization tokens required to access your connected data
- Device/browser/app metadata used for debugging, reliability, and security
Runome does not collect your provider passwords. Runome does not process payment information unless and until paid plans are introduced (in which case this policy will be updated).
4. WHY WE USE DATA
Runome uses data only to provide and improve the service, including:
- Importing and syncing activity and wellness data from connected sources
- Developing, testing, and validating analytics and visualizations
- Generating performance trends and insights for you
- Improving stability, accuracy, fraud prevention, and reliability
Runome does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for targeted advertising.
5. LEGAL BASES (EU/EEA/UK – GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) for connecting data sources and optional features
- Contract / service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) to provide requested features
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to maintain and improve reliability, security, and performance
Processing of health-related data (where applicable) is based on explicit consent (GDPR Art. 9(2)(a)).
6. US PRIVACY NOTICE (e.g., California)
Where US privacy laws apply, Runome:
- Does not “sell” your personal information (as defined by applicable US laws)
- Does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Uses personal information only to operate and improve the service
You may request access, deletion, and correction as described in Section 9. We may need to verify your request for security.
7. STORAGE, RETENTION, AND SECURITY
- We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect data.
- Access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- Data may be stored in the EU/EEA or in other regions with appropriate safeguards.
Retention: we keep data only as long as needed to provide the service, support development/testing, and comply with legal obligations. During development, retention periods may change; we will update this policy as the product matures.
8. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share data only:
- With service providers (processors) who help operate the app (hosting, databases, monitoring) under contractual protections
- If required by law, regulation, or lawful requests from authorities
- To protect the rights, security, and integrity of Runome and its users
9. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object, withdraw consent, and request portability.
In-app deletion (self-service)
You can delete your Runome account and associated data directly in the app via: Settings → Account → Delete account (wording may vary during development).
Disconnecting data sources
You can disconnect connected devices/services at any time in the app. When disconnected, authorization tokens are revoked.
Requests by email
You may also request access/export/deletion by emailing privacy@runome.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may verify your identity.
10. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
If personal data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to help ensure GDPR-level protection.
11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Runome is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as Runome evolves. If changes are material, we will post an updated version and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
